Module Overview:
This QQI Level 5 programme is designed to equip participants with a comprehensive set of skills and
knowledge essential for entry level positions in BioPharma and Chemical processing manufacturing
operations, involved in both chemical synthesis and bio-processing applications.
The programme design integrates theoretical understanding with practical application, preparing operators
to contribute effectively to various manufacturing processes whilst understanding the importance of
compliance and the regulatory requirements of the business.
Target learner group:
The programme is designed for adults 18+, part-time domestic learners who are seeking to attain a Level 5
Further Education and Training award.
The profile of the target learner group will include:
- Learners who would like to transition into a manufacturing operation role in the
BioPharmaceutical industry. - Learners who may already work in manufacturing operational roles and need to demonstrate
learning at Level 5 to progress their career.
Programme Modules:
1. Cleanroom Operations and Plant Utilities / Facilities (15 FET)
2. Continuous Improvement and Sustainability in Manufacturing (5 FET)
3. Quality and Good Manufacturing / Good Documentation Practices and Health & Safety (15 FET)
4. Personal Effectiveness and Transversal Skills (5 FET)
5. Data and Digital Processing Skills (10 FET)
6. Principles and Practice of Chemical Processing (elective / 10 FET)
7. Principles and Practice of Bioprocessing (elective / 10 FET)
Eligibility Criteria for the Course:
- Age: 18+
- Proficiency in English Language Required (B2+ level or equivalent on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
Eligibility Criteria for Skillnet Funding:
- Skillnet Funding can only be applied where the employer pays the course fees on behalf of the student.
- Self-employed applicants can avail of the subsidy.
- BioPharmaChem Skillnet will issue the invoice directly to you or your organisation.
- Public-sector and companies outside of the Republic of Ireland are not eligible for the subsidy but can still apply directly to Innopharma Education to participate in the course.
- Applicants who are not eligible for the BPC subsidy can still apply to Innopharma Education and will be invoiced directly by them.
