Adapted for remote learning, our Microsoft Project Online Introduction course consists of four webinars, totaling approximately 6 hours of comprehensive training. Whether attending live sessions or viewing recorded webinars, participants gain essential project management skills and learn how to effectively utilise Microsoft Project for scheduling and communication purposes. Designed to replace traditional classroom-based training, this course provides flexibility and accessibility, with recordings available for 6 months post-completion. Participants receive all necessary course materials and ongoing support from trainers to ensure maximum learning outcomes.

The primary objective of this course is to empower users to leverage Microsoft Project as a powerful tool for developing clear and effective project schedules. Participants will learn project management concepts, develop competent schedules, and effectively communicate project deliverables and milestones.

Webinar 1: Overview (1.5 Hours)

  • Project management concepts and scheduling fundamentals
  • Defining project scope and creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Task dependencies and scheduling techniques
  • Setting project start/finish dates and working with calendars

Webinar 2: Developing a Project Schedule (1.5 Hours)

  • Task management, including moving, deleting, and inserting tasks
  • Setting milestones, deadlines, and task dependencies
  • Defining and applying project baselines
  • Critical path analysis and float/slack management

Webinar 3: Work Breakdown Structure & Communication Techniques (1.5 Hours)

  • Further development of the Work Breakdown Structure
  • Simple communication techniques for project reporting
  • Printing, saving, and exporting project timelines

Webinar 4: Working with Resources (1.5 Hours)

  • Creating and managing resource pools (work and material resources)
  • Assigning resources to project tasks
  • Understanding effort-driven scheduling and resource calendars
